Thank you for checking out my personal site! It's intended to give you an idea of who I am, my experience, and some of the projects that I've worked on. Code for this site can be found at the link at the bottom of the page.
Hi, I'm Dan Brett and I'm a full-stack engineer, a startup founder, and a passionate technologist. Previously
I was a solutions engineer with the cybersecurity team at Oracle working to develop, package, and demo security products.
Outside of work I'm an avid chess player and I enjoy camping, traveling & hiking. I'm also
a nationally certified EMT and have worked for various ambulance services for 5 years.
I have interests in both tech and travel and at some point I'm currently working to combine these
two with my startup, Dryfter. I'm constantly innovating and self-teaching to actualize my ideas (I'm a huge fan of Udemy online courses - shoutout Colt Steele for Web Development).
I hope this website gives you a better idea of who I am outside of my credentials. I think one of the best ways to do that is to provide insight
into some of my past experiences. For me, my favorite experiences have been when I'm traveling - I've added some photos below that highlight some
favorite places.

As an intern on Shire's security team, I worked closely with security specialists to implement and test an automated risk assessment portal.
Additionally I developed a dynamic “coding security matrix” for potential vendors which referenced industry standards regarding secure
software development lifecycle and requirements specific for Shire. I also was responsible for creating our team's internal site and adding
filtering and tagging capabilities to increase searchability of documents and folders to improve efficiency and collaboration.
